Topical Excursion.
This excursion - a kind of a dialogue based on the exposition “Soviet Period: Between Utopia and Reality” – offers visitors some answers to difficult questions.With the help of video-materials, documents and interactive elements of the exposition belonging to the soviet time the Museum staff managed to reconstruct the portrait of the period.

Topical Excursion.
The idea to arrange a museum which could remind of revolutionary events appeared in the period of the first Russian revolution. At the exhibition with help of Museum staff you can find unique examples of prison creative work and personal belongings of outstanding opponents to tsarist regime, prisoners of famous Shlisselburg convict prison. Some relics let us find ourselves behind the scenes of the revolutionary movement, get to know methods of conspiracy and underground work, hiding places for keeping weapons, money and documents.
 
 
1917
Educational Excursion
The year of 1917 is represented as a series of perpetual events from February to October. Extremely rich materials of the unique Museum exposition let us get an idea of all those events which led to quick consequent change of different regimes: Autocracy, then democracy verging on anarchy, and at last, dictatorship. Political forces and their leaders, programs and slogans are visualized in the museum space and let students match their knowledge obtained at school with some real documents of that epoch.
This excursion covers two expositions: “February 1917. The Chronicle of Russian Monarchy’s Downfall” and  "October 1917".

Topical Excursion.
The uniqueness of the excursion is determined by the fact that historical events were reconstructed exactly where they were taking place - in the mansion of the Prima-ballerina of the Imperial Theaters Mathilda Kshesinskaya. During the February Revolution of 1917 the military headquarters of the Russian Social Democratic Workers’ Party was located here. It was the most radical political party in Russia. The owner of the building had to leave her house for ever. Hosts and guests, peace and war are represented in the decorations of the time: Memorial rooms, photos, and documents. 
 
 
 Reforms and Reformers.
Educational Excursion.
In the space of this exposition – “Reforms and Reformers” – schoolchildren can study the most important documents revealing the essence and logics of the Great Reforms of the 1860-1870s. The preparation for reforms is a long and difficult process demanding huge intellectual efforts from the reformers, constant involvement into the solution of vital problems of the state’s reforming.
